Treadway is pleased to announce their October 17th Decorative Arts auction in Cincinnati. This sale includes ceramics, lighting, art glass and fine art spanning multiple movements.
European Art Nouveau glass in this auction features wonderful examples by Galle, Daum, Loetz, and more from collections across the Midwest and East coast. A beautiful internally decorated metallic foil Galle vase is estimated at $7,500 to $9,500. A Burgun & Schverer vase is expected to bring $7,000 to $8,000.
Fine art features a Gertrude Abercrombie oil on masonite from a Midwest collection estimated at $60,000 to $80,000. This collection also features an oil by Dale William Nichols at $35,000 to $45,000, and a graphic abstract by William S. Schwartz for $10,000 to $15,000.
An extensive collection of Tiffany Studios from an Ohio collection includes a Linenfold lamp is estimated at $12,000 to $17,000, as well many other desk lamps, candlesticks and a wide array of bronze desk pieces including inkwells, letter racks, clocks and frames.
This auction also includes works by numerous Arts & Crafts makers. A collection of Arts & Crafts furniture features several nice pieces of L. & J.G. Stickley and Gustav Stickley. Ceramics include a collection from New Jersey with several fine examples of Grueby and Fulper. A beautifully detailed Newcomb College vase is estimated to bring $15,000 to $20,000. Charming boxes and silver works by Liberty, Ramsden & Carr, Gertrude Twichell offer buyers a wide selection. Modern objects feature two glass pumpkins by Yayoi Kusama and ceramics by Otto & Gertrud Natzler.
